Bones of memory
buried in the soul
knots of wisdom
the root of life’s goals
unearthed past skeletons
besieging our path
‘til their hold is released
from a future we cast.

A monumental stand
the spilling majesty
of sequoias well rooted
despite climate travesty
their upright posture
defending Mother Earth
with a mighty stronghold
of impenetrable girth.

Devouring our disbelief
these towering trees so tall
in speechless wonder
keep us enthralled
by their ancient girths
many centuries old
a colossal forest
of wisdom untold.

Singed Air
Under miles of darkness
my country is overwhelmed
by singed air steeped
in suffering has condemned
epic losses of wildlife
their habitats destroyed
our compassion and assistance
must be generously employed
to help the living beings
struggling in this void.

Echoes Of Thunder
In echoes of thunder
the roaring flames
leave scars of devastation
and acres of pain
blasé attitudes
to climate change
and disrespect to indigenous
back burning ways
is abruptly felt
in apocalyptic waves
of sufferance
and charred silence
of all the unsaved.
